Art Team

The people that make this event come to life are highly skilled Dunedin artists. Together they form the Carnival Art Team. Each year our talented artists design and create stunning giant lanterns and dozens of handcrafted costumes. New creative elements are developed each year in line with the chosen Carnival theme. The changing themes create a unique event every year, making the Carnival fresh and exciting for the audience.

Our Art Team includes giant lantern artists, costumiers, prop makers, workshop coordinators and performance coordinators. Their work is overseen by our Artistic Director and supported by a range of emerging artists and volunteers.
